Computer Crashed

Greetings all. Our computer crashed. I lost everything. Yup, everything. I have back-up copies of Old Fashioned Education, dated copies. But nothing of the new Frugal Abundance site. So I’ll be rebuilding it from scratch. If you have any articles or recipes on FA that you love, please copy them in the next 2 weeks, because they will be going and I don’t know how many of them I’ll repost.

I’ll start rebuilding the beginning of March, when the computer comes out of the shop. Until then my internet access is somewhat limited.

Thanks for understanding. 🙂

  1. I have always loved your spirit in this Maggie, before too when things were lost…you simply trusted the loss and went on. This is so much the spirit of “holy poverty”, not needing to cling becuase we can trust God to provide, provide not just what our bodies will need but our souls too. You really LIVE this it feels, in so many ways, and it has inspired so much!

BTW, i can sure relate to the internet stuff, since the internet is mega sporadic out here. It changes your perspective knowing its not there ready all the time doesnt it?

Wishing you much joy on your new blog….

    Peaceful Week : ) Wendy

  2. So sorry to hear that! I have been enjoying seeing your new work here–praying you will be able to get it back up the way you want.

Sorry to hear about your computer. I only know a little about computers, but when I look at your websites, I see them fine. Doesn’t this mean that somewhere out there (i.e. on your web server), that an intact, current copy of the site exist? Can’t you download from the website to your harddrive instead of rebuilding? I hope this helps because you have been such a blessing to me. I love your oldfashioneducation site.

  4. I just want you to know I enjoy what you write. I am sorry about your computer issues. Thank you for all the hard work that you do.:) You are a blessing.:)

  5. Maggie, I’m so sorry for you! Within the last month we had a complete disk crash in our desktop. Horrifyingly, this was where nearly ALL of my children’s digital photographs from 2004-2007 were located….I had been meaning for the longest time to upload them to Walgreen’s and get at least one paper print of them. Now, my babies’ images are trapped in that broken disk. Makes me wish they had never invented digital cameras! Readers, take note, always get a paper print of your photos, back up on separate media, or upload to a safe place like Walgreen’s website. Avoid the heartbreak I have experienced…..

Hi Maggie, your website is great and I love OFE. I was wondering if you would let me in on what you did for grammar. It says ‘coming soon’, but I really want to incorporate this as soon as I possibly can. Not that you don’t have anything better to do with you time 😉 I thought you might be able to just spit a name out of the top of your head. Thanks so much and keep up the good work you’re doing.

Maggie, seems that the old fashioned yahoo group is down… Has it gone away for good? I recieved and email from a ‘maggie’ with a new group name -http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Oldbookseducation/

Is this you new group? Thx. I love OFE!

I was wondering much the same thing… It seems that I got lost in the loop of the changes. Didn’t even know that it had disappeared until I got this invite to a new one! And… uhmmm.. it wasn’t the one Jancee listed.
PLEASE tell me that the OFE website won’t go down… I’ve two kids that I still need to homeschool and plan on doing so clear through to graduation. And I LOVE OFE.
    God bless!

  9. Lori, Jacee, Lenora,

I’ve written about OFE in the above post. The original Yahoo group is gone now. A new one has started and I’m finding out more about it right now.

Lori, I’ve been using the Scott Forsman (sp?) grammar for my youngest and he’s just about finished it up. It’s linked to from the Grammar/Spelling page. It’s the top on the list and as far as I’m concerned, it’s an excellent program. Free too! Whoo Hoo!
